Today the late Eazy-E would have celebrated his 51st birthday. Hailing from the streets of Compton, Ca, the rapper was thought of as the Godfather of Rap. Contributing to the glamorization of “Gangsta Rap,” Eazy’s rapport came from the delivery of his lyrics, rather than the lyrics themselves. His membership in influential N.W.A would recognize him to be a strong driving force in the shift of hip-hop at the time. Eazy’s death was attributed to contracting HIV, a virus that caused him to get AIDS. He passed at 31 years of age in 1995. His reign lives on through his music, most of which challenged political authority at the time.
